# Competitor Teardown — international student recruitment software

_Phase 1 deliverable. Research date: **11 July 2026**. Method: parallel researcher agents (one per lead + two discovery sweeps), every claim traced to a URL the researcher actually fetched (search snippets alone did not count). Adversarial verification (Red Team) ran as a second pass on 11 July 2026 — one skeptic per profile, re-fetching the load-bearing URLs with orders to refute. **All 11 profiles survived**; corrections are applied inline and the surviving objections are listed at the end of this file._

**Leads given:** StudyLink, Adventus.io, ApplyBoard, Enroller, "Agentic".
**Lead resolutions:** all real and in-niche except **"Agentic", which resolves to Agentcis** (agentcis.com, IntroCept Pty Ltd, Australia) — the literal "Agentic"/agentic.com.au is not a real company in this niche. **StudyLink** disambiguation: the B2B product is StudyLink Connect (now owned by Flywire); `studylink.com` is an unrelated student-facing site (now goingto.university) and `studylink.govt.nz` is the NZ student-loans agency.
**Discovered beyond the leads:** Agentcis, Edvisor, EducationLink, Inteleagent, AMS, Student CRM (AMP). Seen but not fully profiled: Capio (covered under ApplyBoard), Meritto (meritto.com), KONDESK (kondesk.com), UniAgents (uniagents.com).

## The market in one paragraph

There is no direct all-in-one competitor doing what World Ready does — serving **both** the institution side and the agency side with a shared chain from lead to commission. The field splits into three clusters: (1) **institution-side admissions/agent-management platforms** sold to universities (StudyLink/Flywire, Student CRM AMP, Enroller); (2) **agency-side CRMs** sold to recruitment agencies (Agentcis, Inteleagent, AMS, EducationLink); (3) **marketplaces** that monetise the transaction rather than the software (Adventus.io, ApplyBoard) — plus Edvisor, the closest structural comparable, which sells software to both sides but is anchored in language-travel/LATAM and lacks a multi-entity agency hierarchy or a gated commission engine.

## Cluster 1 — institution-side platforms

### StudyLink Connect (Flywire) — the enterprise incumbent
- **Site:** https://www.flywire.com/industries/education/solution/studylink (connect.studylink.com redirects here)
- **Positioning (their words):** "a leading cloud-based solution for managing agents, applications, and admissions."
- **Buyer:** large institutions — Australian universities dominate (Adelaide, Griffith, UTas, Canberra, ANU, Swinburne, CQU), expanding to Canada (Niagara College). Agents use the portal free; the institution pays.
- **Features:** agent portal (one login, many institutions), agent contract & commission management, application pre-screening/GTE-risk prioritisation, English-test verification integrations (TOEFL/Pearson/IELTS), SIS import, Recruitment Partner APIs, Flywire payments cross-sell.
- **Pricing: none published — quote-only.** The researcher fetched `/pricing` (redirects, no prices), scanned the full Wayback CDX history of connect.studylink.com (no pricing page ever archived in ~13 years), and found no G2/Capterra listing. Only money figure on record: **Flywire bought the company for ~AUD 60M / USD 39M (Nov 2023)** — https://www.navitas.com/news/article/navitas-announces-sale-of-studylink-for-approx-60-million-aud-approx-39-million-usd/
- **Scale:** 15,000–20,000 agent network (range across pre-acquisition site vs Flywire/Navitas PR); majority of Australian universities; client outcomes (Adelaide turnaround 30→8–10 days) are vendor-published testimonials, not audited.
- **Red Team:** ✅ survived. Correction applied: Flywire's own release states ~USD $38.8M (USD $34.9M cash + up to $3.9M contingent); Navitas's "~USD 39M" is the rounded headline. Quote-only pricing re-verified live 2026-07-11.

### Student CRM — Agent Management Platform (Data Harvesting, UK)
- **Site:** https://www.student-crm.co.uk/agent-platform
- **Positioning:** "a single, transparent system to manage their international recruitment network… all within a UKVI-compliant environment." UK universities/colleges only.
- **Pricing: partially published.** Current: **"From just £68 per day"** (~£2,068/mo, ~£24.8k/yr), unlimited users/students, £0 setup, modular (35 modules), final price quote-based — https://www.student-crm.co.uk/pricing. Historical exact tiers (Wayback 11 Sep 2024, prices as of 1 Jun 2023): **Standard £2,950/mo; Premium £3,950/mo**, free trial tier £0.
- **Scale:** vendor-stated 5m students, 3m applications, 25 years, 100% UK-focused.
- **Red Team:** ✅ survived. £68/day re-verified live; the £2,950/£3,950 tiers remain historical (Wayback) and are labelled as such.

### Enroller (NZ)
- **Site:** https://enroller.co.nz (app at enroller.app; enroller.io is unrelated/parked)
- **Positioning:** "Where International Education Connects and Grows" — enquiry→application→enrolment for providers, NZ K-12 heavy, expanding (claims 400+ providers, 3,500+ agents, 12,000+ students).
- **Pricing: model published, amounts not.** Tiered by **number of enrolled international students** (explicitly not per-user; unlimited users; training included) with two packages (Convert / Enterprise) — from their FAQ, fetched. No dollar figures anywhere public; their /pricing paths 302 to the login-gated app shell.
- **Red Team:** ✅ survived. Homepage stats block (400+) conflicts with its own intro copy — scale treated as vendor-stated.

## Cluster 2 — agency-side CRMs (the pricing anchors for WR's agency tiers)

### Agentcis (IntroCept Pty Ltd, AU) — resolution of the "Agentic" lead
- **Site:** https://agentcis.com — "#1 Education Agent CRM"
- **Buyer:** education & migration agencies, solo → multi-office (bulk packs to 50 users).
- **Pricing: fully published** (per-user; captured from the live pricing page + the site's own JS bundle; four currencies):
  - **Starter — free** (100 contacts, 300 service applications, sub/super-agent management)
  - **Professional — USD $10/user/mo monthly, $7/user/mo annual** (AUD $14 / $10)
  - **Premium — USD $21/user/mo monthly, $15/user/mo annual** (AUD $30 / $21) — adds automation, client+agent portals, commission invoicing, custom roles, audit logs
  - Add-ons: **$500 one-time setup service**; SMS per-number + per-message; bulk annual packs (e.g. Premium 50 users USD $6,300/yr). 7-day trial. Free plan for <1-year-old businesses.
  - Sources: https://agentcis.com/pricing · https://agentcis.com/compare-pricing (third-party corroboration: softwaresuggest.com/agentcis "starting $30/User/Month" = AUD Premium monthly)
- **Scale:** "4,000+ agents worldwide" (vendor-stated), founded 2016, AU+Nepal operations.
- **Red Team:** ✅ survived. Prices re-extracted from the live site bundle; note the free tier is labelled "Starter"/"Basic" on-page ("Freemium" appears only in the sign-up URL slug).

### Inteleagent
- **Site:** https://www.inteleagent.io — "Manage 3X more students in a 3rd of the time"
- **Pricing: fully published (USD):** **Peanuts $9/mo (1 user)** · **Start-Up $49/mo (≤3 users)** · standard **$25/user/mo** · Enterprise "as agreed" · ~20% annual discount · **$199** one-off onboarding package. Sources: https://www.inteleagent.io/pricing-2/ · https://docs.inteleagent.io/popular-resources/plans-and-pricing
- **Scale:** "100s of agencies" (vendor-stated); AU-agency testimonials.
- **Red Team:** ✅ survived. Caveat added: the $9 Peanuts and $49 Start-Up plans are explicitly "for a limited time" — the durable core price is $25/user/mo.

### AMS — Agency Management System (since 2010)
- **Site:** https://ams4you.com
- **Pricing: fully published, and structurally interesting — pay-per-enrolment credits, no subscription:** CRM free to use (students, leads, quotes); **1 enrolment = 1 credit; $3.50/credit (1–499), $3.00 (500–999), $2.50 (1,000+)**; 2,000 emails = 1 credit; no user/branch limits. Student Panel add-on: **Basic $160/mo or $990/yr; Premium $248/mo or $1,490/yr**. Source: https://ams4you.com/agency · https://ams4you.com/student-panel
- **Scale:** 5,000+ counsellors, 70+ countries (vendor-stated); ISO 27001/9001 (2023).
- **Red Team:** ✅ survived. Credit prices re-verified; "$" carries no currency code on their pages (USD-implied caveat stays).

### EducationLink → Edvisor (merged pricing)
- **Sites:** https://geteducation.link · https://www.edvisor.io — Edvisor acquired EducationLink in **November 2020** (PIE News); EducationLink's pricing nav now points at Edvisor's price list; treat as one commercial entity ("the biggest agencies in the world", 150+ user franchises).
- **Red Team:** ✅ survived, one claim killed: the homepage's "NEW!" acquisition banner is 5+ years stale — never describe the acquisition as recent.

### Edvisor — the closest structural comparable (serves both sides)
- **Site:** https://www.edvisor.io — "The Recruiting Platform for International Education — where agencies and schools connect, recruit, and grow, together."
- **Pricing: fully published** (fetched 2026-07-11, USD-presumed "$"):
  - **Agencies:** **$72/mo billed annually ($90 monthly), 2 users included, +$36/user/mo annual (+$45 monthly)** — course search, quoting, insurance marketplace, student CRM, automations.
  - **Schools (per campus, 2 users incl., $500 setup):** **Starter $120/mo** (≤20 agency connections) · **Growth $360/mo** (≤250) · **Scale $560/mo** (≤500); monthly billing ≈ +25%; "Save 20%" yearly.
  - Source: https://www.edvisor.io/pricing
- **Scale:** 5,000+ active agencies, 700+ partner schools, $2B tuition processed; named schools: Kaplan, ILSC, ILAC, Torrens, EC English (vendor-stated).
- **Feature gaps vs WR:** no multi-entity Master-Agency hierarchy with commission share; no gated multi-party commission engine; no per-role data-scope model; language-travel/LATAM anchored catalogue.
- **Red Team:** ✅ survived. All prices re-read live incl. the monthly/yearly toggle. Standing caveat: no currency code anywhere on edvisor.io — and the company is Vancouver-based, so "$" could be CAD; treat as USD-presumed.

## Cluster 3 — marketplaces (different business model, same buyers)

### Adventus.io
- **Site:** https://adventus.io — "a discovery and booking platform for international student recruitment."
- **Model & pricing (published):** platform **free for both sides** (all subscription tiers removed); recruiters keep **80% of commission** (100% on 2,000+ "Premium Programs") minus a **2.95% transaction fee (4.95% admin fee on premium)**; free core capped at 5 applications/student. Institutions pay per-enrolment commission + unpublished premium products (Drive, Professional Services). Source: https://adventus.io/pricing-recruiters-new/
- **Scale:** 1,600+ institutions, 8,000 recruiters, ~60,000 students/yr — 2023-era self-reported figures; site elsewhere says 1,500+/7,000+.
- **Red Team:** ✅ survived. All percentages re-verified verbatim live 2026-07-11. Added context: the published fee structure was last edited Aug 2024; 2022 press reported ~40 layoffs and a CEO transition (The PIE News) — the company reads steady-state, not high-velocity. One claim killed: a Mar 2025 "new offices in SE Asia" story was an advertorial that doesn't say that.

### ApplyBoard (+ Capio spin-off)
- **Site:** https://www.applyboard.com · https://www.capio.ai
- **Model:** commission-per-placement marketplace (not SaaS): institutions pay per enrolled student; agents join free and share the commission (Elevate tier rewards; eWallet payouts; advance-commission mechanism). Student-side **CAD $250 "Application Processing Deposit"** for defined risk categories — refunded if the visa is approved (assist.applyboard.com policy as rewritten Feb 2026, via Wayback). No B2B price list exists.
- **Scale:** 1.5M+ students helped, 1,500+ institutions; **C$375M Series D at C$4B valuation (2021)**.
- **Capio:** AI admissions platform for institutions spun out of ApplyBoard — the institution-software play; pricing unpublished.
- **Red Team:** ✅ survived, with corrections: the student fee is now the **"Application Processing Deposit" (CAD $250)** — criteria rewritten Feb 2026 (older than 25 undergrad / 32 grad, 5+ year gap, wider refusal-country list) and it is **refunded if the visa is approved**; the old "non-refundable processing fee" framing is outdated and was killed. Agent reward perks (CAD $100–200) were a 2025-intake promo, not standing pricing.

## Pricing intelligence — what the market will bear

| Player | Side | Model | Published floor → ceiling |
|---|---|---|---|
| Agentcis | Agency | per-user SaaS | **$0 → $21/user/mo** (USD) |
| Inteleagent | Agency | per-user SaaS | **$9/mo → $25/user/mo** |
| AMS | Agency | per-enrolment credits | **$2.50–3.50/enrolment**, $0 base |
| Edvisor | Agency | flat + per-user | **$72/mo** (2 users) + $36/user |
| Edvisor | School | per-campus tiers | **$120 → $560/campus/mo** + $500 setup |
| Student CRM | Institution | modular quote | **"from £68/day"** (~£25k/yr); hist. £2,950–3,950/mo |
| Enroller | Provider | per-enrolled-student tiers | amounts unpublished |
| StudyLink/Flywire | Institution | enterprise quote | unpublished (co. sold for A$60M) |
| Adventus.io | Both | marketplace | free + **2.95–4.95%** of commission |
| ApplyBoard | Both | marketplace | commission-per-placement, negotiated |

**Reading:** agency-side software is cheap and per-seat ($7–25/user/mo) with free floors everywhere — land-grab pricing is table stakes there. Institution-side software is 10–100× dearer per account ($120/campus/mo → £25k+/yr → enterprise-quote) and hides its prices as deals get bigger. Marketplaces monetise the commission stream itself, which agencies resent when the split bites (Adventus takes up to 20% + fees). Nobody prices the **two sides together**, and nobody charges for the thing WR uniquely does — running the whole chain including multi-party commission generation under one roof.

## Rejected / resolved candidates

- **"Agentic" / agentic.com.au** — not a real company in this niche; lead resolves to Agentcis. ❌
- **studylink.com** — student-facing course search (now goingto.university), not the B2B product. ❌
- **studylink.govt.nz** — NZ government student finance. ❌

## Implications carried into Phase 2 (pricing)

1. **Agency tiers must start at/near free** — Agentcis, AMS, Adventus all offer $0 floors; a solo counsellor will not pay enterprise money.
2. **Per-seat is the agency convention ($7–25)**; the credible premium ceiling is ~$25–36/user/mo — WR's AI search and commission engine justify the top of that band.
3. **Provider/institution money is account-based, not seat-based** — per-campus ($120–560/mo) at the low end, £25k+/yr modular at the UK premium end, quote-only at enterprise. WR's provider tier should be account/entity-priced with a sales-led top end.
4. **The multi-entity group is unpriced in the market** — nobody publishes a Master-Agency-hierarchy price. That's WR's white space; price it as a platform (per-entity), not per-seat.
5. **Commission-stream models are the enemy's weakness** — marketplaces take up to 20% + 3–5% fees of agency commission; WR charging flat software fees and taking **0% of commission** is a positioning weapon.

### Red Team status

**COMPLETED 2026-07-11.** One skeptic per profile re-fetched the load-bearing sources with orders to refute. **All 11 profiles survived.** Claims killed: ApplyBoard's outdated fee criteria and "non-refundable" framing; EducationLink's "recently acquired" framing (Nov 2020); an Adventus SE-Asia "new offices" advertorial claim. Corrections applied inline above. **Surviving objections that stay visible:**

- Adventus/ApplyBoard scale figures are 2023-era self-reported press; current volumes unverified. Adventus's fee page was last edited Aug 2024; 2022 layoffs/CEO-transition reported (The PIE News).
- AMS and Edvisor prices display "$" with no currency code — USD-presumed, and Edvisor is Vancouver-based (could be CAD).
- Student CRM's £2,950/£3,950 tiers are historical (Wayback 2024); the live page publishes only "from £68/day".
- Inteleagent's $9/$49 small plans are explicitly "for a limited time"; the durable price is $25/user/mo.
- StudyLink client outcomes and every "agents worldwide" count are vendor-stated, not audited.
- StudyLink's 15,000 vs 20,000 agent-network size differs by source — presented as a range.
